Nasa Mitchell is a yoga student and compassionate teacher with alignment-based Hatha, Vinyasa, and Restorative Yoga teachings. Her focus of teaching yoga is to use the asana-postures, pranayama-breath techniques, and meditation practices to establish a greater connectivity with oneself, mental clarity, and a more empathetic awareness of the world around us. She is a Reiki practitioner, wife, parent of two boys, and a puppy parent.
Iyengar Yoga Teacher
Momi has studied Iyengar yoga for over 30 years with Manouso Manos, one of the two most senior Iyengar teachers in North America. She has traveled four times to Pune, India, to study at the Ramamani Iyengar Memorial Yoga Institute with the Iyengar family. Momi has been teaching for over 20 years and is a Certified Iyengar Yoga Teacher (CIYT) at the Junior Intermediate 1 level as well as an IAYT Certified Yoga Therapist (C-IAYT). Sharing her love of yoga with her students brings Momi much joy.
Jackie began practicing yoga in 2005 and instantly recognized the benefits yoga has to offer as a means of self-care. Initially drawn to yoga for fitness, she quickly fell in love with the peace of mind, clarity of thoughts and overall feeling of well-being. As a 200 RYT, Jackie strives to create a safe, non-competitive space for her students to explore and challenge their boundaries. She is honored to teach yoga helping to bring balance, awareness, health, and happiness into the lives of others.
Jolene grew up in Minnesota and loves the lakes, traveling, and spending time in nature. In search of balance, strength, and solace as a nurse and caregiver, she tried a yoga class in 2000. The body-mind-spirit connection encouraged by unifying breath and movement made yoga unlike any other form of exercise. Jolene completed Restorative Yoga Teacher Training and her 200-hour Yoga Teacher Training at Spirit of the Lake and is excited to share this deeply healing practice with others.
Iyengar Yoga Teacher
Mona has been practicing Iyengar yoga since 2002. She is Iyengar Certified at the Introductory II level and continues her teacher training with Chris Sudak (from Lacrosse, WI). Off the mat, Mona enjoys knitting, spending time with her family (her granddaughter in particular), snow shoeing in the winter and kayaking in the summer!
Judy is a 500 hour E-RYT, teaching Yin, Adaptive, Nidra and Aqua Yoga in the local community for over seven years. She has studied with several outstanding teachers including Paul Grilley, Judith Lasater, Indu Aurora, Sarah Powers, Gary Kraftsow, and Ken Nelson. Judy says, "My earliest yoga experience started back in the 70's in my college days - and became my centering and calming practice. After moving on to other activities, I returned to an active practice over the course of the last decade."
Niki guides well-rounded classes that are light-hearted but meditative. They flow in a thoughtful manner and are designed to create balance, a feeling of calm energy and mindful presence. In her classes you will learn proper alignment of poses while you build strength, self-awareness, flexibility, focus, and the ability to relax. An experienced teacher with advanced training, Niki is registered with the yoga alliance as an E-RYT 500, and YACEP (Yoga Alliance Continuing Education Provider).
Brooke enjoys the cultivation of strength, balance, and flexibility offered by the practice of yoga. She considers yoga a process of continual learning that allows students to engage in physical and psychological growth through the connection of meditation, breath, movement, and stillness. Brooke received her RYT 200 through Spirit of the Lake Yoga and is a psychotherapist and parent; with her husband and two boys.
Amber Huttner, E-RYT 500, was certified as an Anusara yoga teacher in 2001. Teaching for almost 20 years, her classes are fun, informative, and always emphasize learning new ways to progress and succeed on the mat. Amber brings an abundance of technical expertise along with her humor, compassion, and heart-felt instruction to her classes. Her students benefit from her enthusiasm for life and dedication to help them learn, heal, and grow on every level.
Iyengar Yoga Teacher
Tiffany is a certified Iyengar teacher at the Introductory II level. Tiffany is a devoted student of Momi Jhung and Suzanne Fitzpatrick and continues to dedicate much of her time to developing her practice. She enjoys attending trainings and workshops with Senior instructors in order to deepen her understanding of the Iyengar method. She teaches with care, enthusiasm, and a true desire to help others to develop their awareness and find their joy through the practice of yoga.
Stephanie began the voyage down the yogic path in 1998. After one class she shifted gears from her work as a personal trainer and started to explore yoga through personal practice. In 2008 she completed her 230 hour teacher training at the Yoga Center of Minneapolis, then in 2010 completed a 100 hour Anusara immersion program. Stephanie continues to seek gifted teachers who guide her as a student and instructor of yoga and meditation.
