Child Wellness: Mindfulness Tools for Stress Managemnet

Mondays 1:30-2:15

ages 6-12

Children are under an incredible amount of pressure these days which can lead to an excess of stress, sleep issues, and anxiety. This four week course will help them learn useful skills to reduce the stress, worry, and tension they hold in their bodies and minds. Mindful awareness exercises and mind-body skills training can help develop self-awareness, greater concentration, and a more positive outlook.

Children taking this course will learn self-regulation and how to calm themselves through mindfulness and mind-body skills. We will learn together through play, games, and having fun!

Mindfulness Tools for Teens

Mondays: 2:30-3:30

ages 13-17

Teens are under an incredible amount of pressure which can lead to an excess of stress, sleep issues, and anxiety. This four week course will help them learn useful skills to reduce the stress, worry, and tension they hold in their bodies and minds. Mindful awareness exercises and mind-body skills training can help develop self-awareness, greater concentration, and a more positive outlook.

Teens taking this course will:

  • Learn how to quiet their minds and relax their bodies

  • Increase their focus, memory and concentrate to assist with test taking skills, sports, and more

  • Practice techniques to reduce stress, anxiety and increase compassion towards self and others

 

 

About the Teacher:

Nicole Lovald, M.S., BCC, E-RYT
Nicole Lovald is the owner of Spirit of the Lake Yoga and Wellness Center in Excelsior, Minnesota. She has a masters degree in Counseling, is a licensed yoga instructor, and is a board certified life coach. More importantly, she is a mom who has experience working with kids and loves teaching them how to use their breath and mindfulness practices to calm their bodies and minds.
